The U.S., Japan, and China on Myanmar

The support to Myanmar from the U.S can be a bulwark against China, which cozied up to the junta-ruled country.

As U.S. government has relaxed sanctions in phases and expedited its assistance to the country, and Japanese government also plans to offer yen credits to the tune of ¥ 50 billion, China may be stewing over the moves.

Even though the road to further democratization will be bumpy, I hope the country must use these supports as a springboard to promote drastic reforms.
